Montana Marriage Records
Note: There are 56 Counties in Montana
Montana Vital Records:
Montana researchers will usually find the County Courthouse Records to be the best source for all
Montana marriage records.
There are times, however, when you might not know the county in which an ancestor resided. In that case, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, Vital Records Division is a good place to start.
The Montana Historical Society Library also answers numerous requests by patrons for various types
of information related to Montana's history every day.
If you are not able to visit the library to conduct your own research, their staff may be able
to assist you with your research for a small fee.
For detailed information on how to request research to be done by the staff of the
Montana Historical Society Library, please visit the appropriate link below.
A limited amount of their collection is available via inter-library loan.
If you are interested in requesting materials via interlibrary loan, please read through their
ILL policies.
