Massachusetts Vital Records:
The Registry of Vital Records and Statistics maintains birth, death and Massachusetts marriage records that
occurred in Massachusetts from 1911 to the present.
The Registry also maintains an index of Massachusetts divorces from 1952 to the present.
Copies of the divorce records are available from the probate court where the divorce was obtained.
Also available from the Registry are high-quality Heirloom Certificates that make beautiful
keepsakes or gifts to commemorate a very special birth or marriage.
Massachusetts Vital Records have been registered in Massachusetts since 1635. Statewide collection began in 1841.

Originally published by the New England Historic Genealogical Society in the early twentieth century,
the databases in this compilation cover births, marriages, and deaths from each town
from its respective founding until 1850. This series is of particular interest to those with
ancestors in Massachusetts during the 1700s and 1800s.
